 All of the hotels around the island of Cozumel come complete with bathroom and fan, with many of the most popular hotels also featuring air conditioning. The winter months in Cozumel tend to be the high season, when accommodation is understandably at its most expensive.
Outside of the high season, lodging rates in Cozumel do become much cheaper, although whatever the time of year, last minute packages are often available and offer the best value accommodation. Also worth noting, if you are prepared to negotiate, you are often likely to improve hotel rates in your favour.
 Cozumel Hotels and Accommodation: Where to Stay - Cozumel, Mexico, MX
The main hotels can be found on the north-western side of the island, within the island's only town, San Miguel de Cozumel.
The northern (Costera Norte) and southerly (Costera Sur) sides of San Miguel are home to many of the most popular hotels and notable beaches, such as the Playa la Ceiba and the Playa San Juan. These areas are known as 'Hotel Zones', due to their high concentration of accommodation.
Hotels in this part of Cozumel are conveniently just a short drive to the south of the nearby airport and where the majority of holidaymakers head.
 Offering beachfront accommodation, resort hotels in Cozumel are plentiful in both the North Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera Norte) and the South Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera Sur). Most offer reasonable value for money with excellent facilities, which often include onsite restaurants, outdoor swimming pools and balconies.
Those looking for a little luxury should head to the South Hotel Zone, which is just a short distance south of central San Miguel de Cozumel and between the Playa Corona and Playa Palancar beaches. This is where you will find the biggest luxury resort hotels, such as the Presidente InterContinental Cozumel, which is amongst the island's most historic hotels and complete with tropical gardens, swimming pools, its own sandy beach and more than 250 guest rooms. Further luxury accommodation in Cozumel comes in the form of the Fiesta Americana, a prominent scuba diving resort with many oceanfront guest rooms.
